Sea Scouting is part of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) and was founded in 1912 to serve as an adventure on sea and land. It is a co-educational program offered to young adults between the ages of 14 and 21. Sea Scouting is organized to promote leadership and better citizenship, improving members' nautical skills and knowledge through instruction and practice in water safety, boat handling, outdoor, social and service experiences, and knowledge of our maritime heritage. It is the generosity of people like you that make our organization successful for the youth of our communities.

"As a Sea Scout,

I promise to do my best to guard against water accidents, to know the location and proper use of the lifesaving devices on every boat I board, to be prepared to render aid to those in need, and, to seek to preserve the motto of the sea, 'women and children first.'"
-Sea Scout Motto
